Monday, already???

Hello everybody!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.  We made the most of the wonderful weather and enjoyed a good inch-ish of rain last night.

Today on my design wall I have some cubes I've been working with.  I'm toying with the idea of working with this illusion a bit more and making a wall hanging out of it.  I like the way the stripes play into the cubes.  We'll see where it goes!  I must say that I'm very proud for teaching myself to make "Y" seams.  I went into a panic when it came time to sew my diamonds together... "I don't know how to make "y" seams".  I calmed down and figured it out.  I'm not sure however how I'll do when it comes to sewing them all together.  I may have to resort to taking them apart and doing the strip method... we'll see.

This week, while I wait on my fabric from P&B to arrive I'm going to be working on a last minute Mother's Day quilt that is going to be so sweet!

Have a great day, everybody!

  1. Wow, those cubes are great! I love the effect of the stripes all running different directions! Great job.

  2. very cool Alison! Who is the Mother's Day quilt for??

    1. Thanks Beryl, The Mother's Day quilt is for a work friend of Lenora.

  3. I have never seen the cubes with stripes, what a fabulous idea!

  4. Thanks Jennifer and Glen, we'll see what I end up doing with it.

  5. No need to take them apart. Just sew them together in diagonal rows using that Y-seam technique you figured out. You can do it!
